This criminal activity has attracted global attention, and the United States has officially called for the characterization of these active fraudsters in Northern Myanmar as international criminals. Looking back to 2022, when Afghanistan was retaken by the Taliban, many dissenting citizens’ lives were threatened, including Hamid Obaidi, spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education, who featured in “Waykichain Rescues Hostages”.
